Near record heat here yesterday(for January) and snow today. This is the work horse in the house for the next several months.

Not quite cold enough yet for the red glow. This is a big stove. I can put a full armload of wood in if need be. Also the only source of heat in this house.

On a blustery winter's morning I didn't venture far afield to take this quick shot. The cold and snow here right now is nothing compared to what many people are struggling with across this country and our northern neighbors. To those my wish is that you can stay warm and safe.

It does Rick. I live against a 1000 ft high mountain but even then the wind can scream here.

My friend Dave's (Rancher's) sister just wrote me using Dave's pm that he has passed away. She asks me as his friend to post this so you'll all know. I've only known him for a short time, but he was an awesome guy and a great nikonite!
I shall miss him.........
May god bless and care for his family in this time of grief.

R.I.P. Rancher. You will be sorely missed, both at home and here.
