It looks like the flower of a Butia capitata (Jelly Palm), a primary wasp food source. There's a couple of different species there, plus some bees. Watch out for nests under the fronds, if you do any pruning.

This was taken at the Green Cay Wetlands. No pruning for me!

Winged Termite. These guys come out in their thousands after the first decent rain. After a few days there are discarded wings everywhere.

Yeah I haven't driven the 300km's yet to where 'I think' the grasshoppers are. This was just one of the many termites around work last week.
