Great shot, was just wondering about teh crop though and why you dotn have much room for the egret to fly out of?

It wasn't cropped. I was zoomed and that was the result. Wasn't going to bin it because it broke a 'rule'.

Ah ok fair enough, I wouldn't bin it either. I guess the squarness of it threw me a bit and I thought it was cropped.

Well, I should elaborate. The width wasn't cropped but the height was because there was a lot of ugly stuff above it. Fair point though Scott and I'm certainly trying to be more mindful about how I crop. I would say 50% of the time I crop to get rid of crap that would ruin the shot which sometimes means the composition is not quite right.

Well thats fair enough, but I must honestly say that I have never taken a BIF in portrait mode. Would take some doing I would say.
