There was a shot of a La Jolla sunset used as the Bing home screen a couple days ago, and while it wasn't one of yours it certainly could have been.
We've had some unusual clouds here in San Diego as the storm moved out of the area. Both Thursday and Friday gave very interesting sunsets. The first shot is from Thursday and the second is Friday's sunset.

Thanks Wud. Yes, I have been selling images, more often lately than I was earlier in the year. The "San Diego Reader" (A free magizine that you can pick up at the store or look on-line for things going on here in San Diego) has been reposting several of us SD photographers work on their FB page and it's brought in a lot of offers from random people. Some of the photographers go all out and post within the Reader's post about how you can buy their work but I just can't bring myself to do that. It just seems so desperate to me. The funny thing is how often people will want to buy images that I feel are just okay and avoid the one's I think are awesome. I've learned that predicting what will sell and won't sell is clearly a gift I do not possess.

Yeah, its really funny sometimes what people prefer. That sounds really good, you got more people seeing your stuff. Maybe just a link for your website, when you post on SD facebook..? Its not saying buy-buy-buy, but just letting people know where to see more.
Tonight was an *amazing* sunset. The panorama image was taken just after the sun went below the horizon and the sky light up a vivid orange-red color. The second image is near the peak of brightness as the orange color began to turn red. And no, I didn't juice the saturation up for these shots, believe it or not. Tonight was one of the brightest and most amazing sunsets I've ever seen. Once the sun went below the horizon the entire sky gave off this glow that lit up everything around me. The water and the beach were nearly as bright as daylight only the light was this amazing orange-red. And the brightness lasted my 8 to 10 minutes before it began dimming as the sun went further and further below the horizon. An amazing sight to behold and one I'll be remembering for a long time.

Here's what the sky looked like as the sun was moving closer to the horizon. At this point I wasn't convinced we were going to have the sky fire that happened after the sun went below the horizon, so I was spending my time getting shots that didn't depend so much on the sunset like this one of the family looking through the tide pools.

Some days the hardest part is just showing up. Great captures of a spectacular evening.
You're so right about that!!! And you're guaranteed to have an amazing sunset on the days you decide to stay home, too. Man, life's a beach...eh?
