Some really nice shots there Micheal! Street Photography is something that I have been drawn to for a good few years; in fact, I've wanted to try it out for longer than I have actually known anything much about a camera, but even now, it's confidence that has held me back.

Yesterday, thanks to some user stupidity that prompted a trip to get some advice from a camera dealer (don't ask!) I decided it was as good a time as any to give it a try. I have to say I felt a lot more confident as I spent more time out there. Steady drizzle made it tricky being outside but a good lens hood kept the lens dry and a rain sleeve protected the camera.

I came across a really interesting group of guys playing Scottish music with bagpipes and drums. They were surrounded by plenty of onlookers, many of whom were snapping away photos on their phones and point and shoot cameras so I felt a little 'safer' starting out there.

Good job Lee!

Thank you Marilynne :)

So you're from England then, Lee? At first I thought you might be from Scotland. Hard to tell from here. ;)

Always go with your first instinct - you were right on the money first time :) The above is the center of Glasgow on a Saturday morning :D

@Lee, great photos and thank you for your postings. I am going to learn about "Street" I think it's quite interesting for me.
Thank you Michael. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, though I do confess that I played it 'safe' whether intentional or not, by staying in the heart of the city. Tourists and big cameras are not uncommon so it's easier to blend in (I also had that in mind when I got dressed before heading out lol). It certainly proved more successful than last weekend's supposed-to-be
-peaceful outing to shoot some fall colors in the countryside which resulted in a call to the Police :D Nobody bugged me at all about my camera yesterday, and several folk actually came up to me to say hello and ask where I was from :) I will definitely be doing this again just as soon as all the Christmas things are up

You do some great every day candid shots Michael, just don't get arrested :D

First of all I ask really everyone. Actual I go that close so they see it and I ask them not look at the camera, and that family knows I am going to post it too.

And they wanted I take a photo of their daughter.

Hi every1. I am new here from Malaysia. (Check out my introduction post) Street shooting is one of the genre of photography that I love indulging in besides architecture and landscape/nature.

Money changes hands between a lady customer and a lady seller at Siti Khadijah Central Market, Kota Bharu, Malaysia. The market is named after the wife of Prophet Muhammad, Siti Khadijah, who was renowned as a successful businesswoman before marrying the prophet. It was aptly named so because most of the traders in the market are ladies :)
