This one I photoshopped to try and look like a vintage photo... Happens to be my first attempt at modifying photos :)

The railway mob buy / save a lot of old trains and railway gear, this is one they are hoping to fix up one day.

This one is photoshopped. I wanted black and white, but leaving the red lens. I'm really happy with how it came out actually.

More pics: | Stephan's 30th (27/09/2013)

Hope you enjoy them, feel free to offer advice etc... :)

It's July 1984 and we're at Schnieder, IN watching a meet of two Conrail trains. [Nikon N2020, 50mm Nikkor, Kodachrome 64]

We're in Erwin, TN in May of 1979 and a Clinchfield Railroad SD-40 is fixin' to ride the transfer table at the shop. The Clinchfield is now owned by CSX. The road extended between Spartanburg, SC and Elkhorn City, KY. It was completed in 1915, so was highly engineered through difficult terrain to modern standards with high bridge and tunnel clearances and compensated grades and curvature. The line remains a jewel and offers fantastic photo opportunities. [Nikon EL-2, Nikkor 50mm, Kodachrome 64]

Shots of the Mt Airy Station in Philadelphia. Station was designed by Frank Furness in 1882. Trains are operated by SEPTA (South Eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority)

Nice photographs of Mt. Airy and nice too to see the depot and site still doing what it was designed to do 130 years later. That's excellence in architecture. Thanks for posting these!

Went out today to test my D5100 with its new shutter mechanism and regain my confidence with it. Caught CSX Train 463 at McBee (pronounced MAC-bee), SC at the south end of the siding.

All seems well with the camera. Even after two years of ownership, it seems I learn something new each time I go out.

Caught up with two more of Norfolk Southern's "Heritage" locomotives today in Columbia, SC. It's hard to find these, let alone two on the same train. Imagine my chagrin to find that both special locomotives were trailing! It's okay though; I am happy to have seen them.

Several minutes later I caught up with the train entering the yard and got a "going away" shot to show the Heritage units a bit better. I was blessed with good light today.

Good Deal Rick! .. Best wishes for the display and some sales...

Pat in NH

Thanks Pat!

I'll post some shots this weekend from the show in the business thread and let everyone know my experiences. I've ordered about $600 in prints (about half trains) for the show so I hope it pays off. I've got 3 shows lined up over the next 5 weeks, so we'll see if I can make a few bucks with this hobby :).
