Osprey - they never fly towards or over me, always the other way!!

what to do Marilynne is have Chris walk at them from the other direction, then they MIGHT fly at you??

I spent a whole day taking photos of ospreys and it was worth all the sunburns as eventually it landed above me with a fish in its talons. Its well worth the wait when they do.
Keep at it, they are amazing animals and you take great photos of them :)

These are taken with my D80.

He does that when we're on the boardwalk or a two lane road. This was across a major road (6 lanes) with lots of traffic. If the cars didn't spook him, I don't think Chris would have.

Ah ok, also have you tried at different time of the day? As they may be doing one thing of the afternoon and another in the morning ;) As I said i watched them over a day (8+hrs) and managed a few good shots. They go hunting at certain times so this could be good to watch out for and to try and predict.

We try to do that over the wetlands. This was on a road we're only on to go see this doc or get hot dogs at Faith Farm.
