I've never heard that term either Ed... I'm pretty sure I do that all the time, haha

Anyone bringing a tripod? Ed, are you bringing your 17-55? :)

Absolutely. I've got a pair of MeFOTO's, a DayTrip and RoadTrip. The DayTrip fits easily inside a lens compartment of my bag, so it'll definitely be with me, though it only extends to 3'. I'm hoping to be able to shoot inside the Princeton Chapel, so I want to rig up bag, which currently does not have tripod holders, so that I can bring the larger one along, but at least I'll be covered.

Jake,

Those look great. I'm really interested in the Daytrip. Will it hold a D300 and 17-55?

I holds my D800 and a 16-35mm f4 or the Sigma 24-70mm f2.8, so I have to assume it would hold the 17-55mm on the D300. Specs say up to 8.8 lbs. Remember, it's a shorty at just over 2 feet with everything fully extended. But it fits in the lens tube of my Lowepro Outback, so that's a huge bonus. Would have loved to see one more leg extension section, but hey, you can't have everything.

Early weather forecast looks to be unseasonably warm: 80 °F / 27 °C

For folks going to the Princeton walk, I'm assuming you all got the email from Cindy yesterday about the gathering afterwards. I'm assuming you all are planning on attending, right? Or did we want to do our own at Hoagie Haven since I know that was on Eduard's list. Then again, any cheese steak fan will be willing to stack one on top afterward.

I told Cindy I'm in, but we've got until Friday to change our minds.

That was from Chris. ;) And I won't be able to stay for the lunch because I am a caregiver. However, I'm really looking forward to attending the walk because I don't get out much plus it will be nice to meet the other Nikonites! :)

As you will learn quickly, I am absolutely horrible with names. Some good friends of ours still get humorously indignant when they're reminded that we referred to them as "Fred and Ethel" when we still couldn't remember their names after meeting them several times. Chris is lucky I got the first initial of her name right!!

I'm open for anything and am free either way. I have a couple other friends that are coming too so I can let them know what we decide.

OK. I'm going to stick with my plan to stay for the lunch afterward. For as long as I lived near there and heard about the place I've never been, so it's an excuse to go.

See you all on Saturday.

Wish I could go to one of the ones up there BUT I did find one about 30 miles from here and am signed up to go.

Was it Eduard who asked if other Nikonites will be attending the photo walks in other parts of the country/world? Is anyone else planning to attend a walk somewhere? It would be nice to track the adventures of everyone who is participating! :)

I posted this in jdeg's separate post about the Princeton walk, but I'll repeat it here...

Princeton folks, Eduard and I have been trading emails and we're going to meet at Hoagie Haven for a cheesesteak afterward. Philly people, or any fans of cheesesteaks, if you've never thought to try a Bacon Cheesesteak I heartily recommend that you join us.

Hark, I know you said you can't stay, but this should be a significantly quicker lunch option, so keep it in mind and join us if you can.
