My whenever I can post shots by clay

I haven't had much time to post in my daily. I have posted pictures in macro and insects quite a bit. there are times I have photos to post that pertain to me and not basic subjects I shot.
Like today for instance. I was out shooting insects and macro. When a truck pulled up behind me and I heard a voice calling me names and that I was a fool for what I was doing. When I turned around I knew who it was. It was my son in-laws grandfather. I was about to leave anyway and I knew where he was going. He was going to a local glass blowing shop where he made glass sculptures. I went in and gave him a hard time. I then found out he was helping the owner make glass medallions for the Wine Glass Marathon. Which is a big qualifying race for the Boston marathon.
Here is my luck. The owner asked me to take pictures while they produced the medals. I went back to my house 2 blocks away and grabbed my 35mm and 50mm and away I shot. Instead of taking money she bartered with me and said I could sell my prints and cards at her shop. 030 (800x531).jpg

I'd love to see some shots of the finished medallions ...
We have a glass blowing studio at an ex nunnery near us and it's fascinating to watch the glass blowers/artists at work - it's memorizing (not to mention HOT)
cheers

I should be getting some more shots today. Here are some more. I do believe this is the color they are after they cool in the second picture. It's supposed to be a dark purple for grape country.

I reshot a picture I took last week. One of my postal customers wanted a wider view of this stairwell. It was tricky! I had to remove my lens and slide the camera between the bars and then reattach the lens. Now I'm holding my camera against the other side of the gate. It took several attempts to get the right shot since, I was using a manual lens. But, I got it. I then tone mapped it to enhance it. He wanted a more natural look so, I am going to show him the original shot and the toned mapped one.039(4x6 normal) (800x533) (2).jpg039(4x6 tone) (800x533).jpg

I took a later lunch today, so I could get some pictures of the band playing at the Harvest music festival. They moved it to the parking garage due to rain.005 (533x800).jpg008.jpg015 (800x509).jpg017 (800x534).jpg

What's the story behind the stairwell?

The stairwell leads to the underpass tunnel of the railroad tracks. Closed years ago due to drugs and violence. From what I here a girl was raped. They only opened them in 1950 and closed them in the mid 80's. Kids kept breaking in until they welded bars across the gates. I know they have been closed up since I have delivered here.
The reason my customer wanted a picture was so he could frame it up and sell it. He owns a frame shop and builds his own guitars.

I know I shoot some similar pictures. But, it's the colors that makes me want to shoot. The leaves are changing now and I wanted to try and catch different shots as they change

I decided to pull out my detector and do my other hobby yesterday. I needed a break from pictures.217 (800x533).jpg I ended up with this 1896 IH penny. I just started the yard so, I have lots more to cover.

Here is some work in progress. I'm waiting for the bridge to be done. Did HDR then changed it to a pencil drawing. I probably won't get a good mist shot until next year.026_5_7_Localtone (800x533).jpg
