Our internet went out today. No DSL signal at all. Tech won't be out until Tuesday to check the line. Seriously?

Anyway, I reconfigured the entire network here to tether off my phone. The little one, and the big one can continue school now.

Here's a weed!

...off to take today's photo now!

I'm not real motivated today after straining my brain to get the house back up on some internet action. I might go out later and take a photo of something, but if not, here's our internet connection now.

It's also sad that this is way faster than the internet connection we usually have...

My mom is 87 years old and not in good health so when my sister is out of town I go to stay with her for a few days at the time. She has no internet so I changed my AT&T plan over to a shared plan so I could tether. It has saved my sanity many times now. We get 4G LTE and it is not quite as fast as home but I get 35 to 40Mb here.

Well, I almost went out to see what I could shoot, then the phone call came.

I'm off to watch that cute little baby I took pictures of a month or so ago. She's sick, so I'm leaving the camera at home. Sick baby's do not make good photos. :sour:

We recently upgraded to the fastest internet we can get out here. 6Mb. I know, blazing speeds, huh?

We're grandfathered in to an unlimited data plan with Verizon, and due to a recent FCC ruling, they can't stop or charge people for tethering their phone to other devices. Although all the other companies can. Something about how they purchased the bandwidth for their phone system. My son is homeschooled through k12.com, and my wife is in graduate school. More importantly though, I have photos to post! :glee:

There's no way we can go without internet for more than a few hours.

Couldn't find anything to shoot, I must be going brain dead. So I waited until it got dark, thought I'd go outside to see if I could shoot some stars tonight. That's a bust too, as this giant light polluting bulb was turned on tonight.

Went out to shoot some stars, but the clouds messed that all up. That's not the important thing here though.

What's important is that I think I finally figured out the whole white balance things with star photos. That's the important lesson of the day!

Creative Brain Freeze. Seems like I've been there for a few days now.

Here's the fuzz looking for marijuana in the corn fields.

I did this one last night for my facebook peeps as I knew no one would catch how bad it really is.

Rules for Nikonites
1. You are not allowed to look at this photo for more than 2.3 seconds.
2. No Pixel Peeping
3. That is all.

Got it! I'm sure my great camera will take good care of me while my brain has obviously taken a vacation...

Still can't think of anything creative, so here's some free stuff* that came in the mail today!

9 CFL bulbs of various wattages, 2 LED night lights, a strange power strip that you plug something into the "Master" and when that item is off or in standby mode, the other plugs get shut off automatically. Two faucet aerators, four adapters for the aerators in case they don't fit, 1 shower head, and two green things of indeterminate nature.

*Free stuff, as in they added a fee to everyone's Toledo Edison, The Illuminating Company, and Ohio Edison's electric bill to pay for this stuff. We're paying for it whether or not we actually request this stuff. The catch is, you have to request it to get it. It's about thirteen cents for every 500KW you use per month, for three years.
