If that spider landed on my face I'd scream like a little girl, if I could do it with my mouth closed as I'm beating my own face in trying to kill it! Lol :D Followed by a ton of cursing and wiping my face off repeatedly! Lol
Cool shot, but now you've given me the willies!lol :D

Well... My wife is back at school now, stealing my computer all the time. Guess I'll post photos as I can.

Here's a spider I almost walked right into. I would've screamed like a little girl if I did. Not because of the spider, but because I hate walking into spider webs.

I bought my wife a new laptop just for graduate school. See how it's working out? LOL!

I don't mind really. The only thing I really do on this computer anymore is Lightroom. Anything else I do is mostly on the internet, I can use my wife's laptop, or my daughters laptop, or my laptop, though mine is absolutely the slowest laptop in the house. I can also use my son's computer, or the theater room server, my phone, or my tablet.

My daughter told me the other day that her school lent her a tablet for classes, so there's another thing I can grab. Not exactly short of computers around here, plus I can grab any file on any computer at any time from anywhere in the world. The only problem is, I have Lightroom on the fastest computer. (Mine!)

This weekend I'm deleting everything, and starting fresh! Of course by "deleting everything" I mean I'm deleting nothing and just reinstalling windows fresh, and putting most everything back the way it was, minus a few thousand files and programs. Something I do every couple years. But this time I'll have a fresh 2TB hard drive for my photos when I'm done!

That thing was about 3 inches or so. I have no clue what kind of spider that is. I'm only used to the wolf spiders getting that big around here.

Here's the uncropped version. That spider in the lower left are the big giant spiders you usually see around here. ('cept old wolf spiders)

Spiders fascinate me, but partly because I'm a bit arachnophobic! Lol :D They look so cool, but I can't stand even the most harmless of spiders on me! A strand of my own hair can send my hand slapping at my face! Lol :D
Keep up the great shots! :D

Ha! My wife is off teaching a karate class! The computer is all mine. MINE I SAY!!

However, emails ensue from the daughter off at college who is 99% sure she was pick pocketed and they took her phone.

So I had to go dig out the box labeled, "Old Ancient Phones For the Daughter. You know, for when she loses, breaks, gets stolen, or otherwise messes up her current phone" and pick out a new phone for her.

Here's what she's getting. Again. For the third time.

You wouldn't like my job Bill!. Around this time of year the brown orb spiders decide to set their webs up everywhere. I have ran into them with my face many times.

Why is it, whenever you run in to a spider web, it's always with your face?? Not your legs, not your arms, but somewhere on your face!!

Maybe the spiders think it's funny, and makes their webs that way just to have a laugh at us as we panic hurrying to get it off our faces! Lol :D

They say a real photographer will do whatever it takes to get the shot.

I call this, "One second before I die."

Well... I was planning on going outside after I finished up formatting and reinstalling windows and software. This is obviously not going to happen.

These are update number 9275723908745072 and update number 9275723908745073. I have no idea how many are left. Update, reboot, update, reboot, update, reboot, ad nauseam...

I usually reformat and reinstall windows once a year on my laptop. I set aside 3 days to do it.

I do it every two years, and also set aside 3 days... This just happens to be those three agonizing days. :dejection:

Hmmm...

I think I'm done! I usually forget the printer driver, but I even did that.

Lightroom
Money
Chrome
CuteFTP
Office
Snagit
Crashplan

Guess that's it.

Brand new 2 TB Drive for photos!

Wonder how I did that in a day and a half...

Ohhhhh, I know why.

We used to have pop accounts for email. Total pain to backup everything, then restore everything.

I went and purchased some brain cells, and decided to setup our email on an exchange server. Now I don't worry about the email/calendar/appointments/etc/etc/etc. I just reinstall outlook, and the server has everything!

I was writing a lot of software and end up doing a lot of testing and it really trashes the registry and hard drive. The only real way to clean it out is to dump it.

I also write and test a lot of software (Windows, Web and Embedded) and I don't reinstall unless I absolutely have to as it takes a week to get all the tools and such that I use back on the system and I use a lot of tools.
Main development tools are Visual Studio 2010, Atmel Studio 6.1 and SQL Express 2012.

Well.. Nothing going on outside. It's dark. It's cloudy. The creek has about an inch of water in it. Oh well...
