Yahoo just posted descriptions of coffee drinkers. Which group do you fall in to?

• Espresso: Instant gratification, a quick hit, "the most grown-up of all coffee options," cynicism, sarcasm, even an aggressive cool hunter. Disdains healthy lifestyles, is moody, and sets high standards, aiming for the leadership position with little time for gossip.
• Black coffee: No-frills, minimalist, cool adult, prefers one-on-one contact, competitive, quiet and moody, although capable of occasional bouts of extroversion.
• Latte: Watering down danger with milk and foam, prefers safety, wants to be liked, cutesy but conceivably stubborn inside, avoid direct confrontation and delegates the dirty work, a loyal family person, enjoys comfortable surroundings and gabbing with trusted friends. Sex is more snuggly than extreme.
• Cappuccino: Optimistic extrovert who appreciates style and nice stuff, although not unduly acquisitive. Prefers to start things rather than see them through with all that dull detail work.
• Instant coffee: No frills, straightforward, cheery but in no hurry to get things done, which might come across as shallow. Highs and lows come easily; not so adventurous in career or sex, but ponders both.
• Decaf soymilk: More of an eco-worrier rather than an eco-warrior. For those who aren't allergic to cow's milk, the choice may indicate a faux fussiness with a touch of sincere narcissism.
• Starbucks Frappuccino (and presumably other frothy whips): It's all about the foam and the froth. Trendchaser more than a trendsetter and, ouch, characterized as a flighty poseur with no sense of irony.
• Non-coffee drinker: The authors reserve the unkindest cut of all for someone who rejects the black brew as being frightened of life and a child (an insult followed by a perhaps conciliatory section on "What Your Tea Says About You").

They did not have an option for coffee with a bit of cream and sugar, so i chose black. I can drink either, prefer the black.

Well, that pretty hits the nail on the head except they dont have an option for what i add. I put a bit of local honey in my black coffee.

To help clarify for those who have never experienced good espresso, there are 5 basic sizes.

They directly correlate to the love for espresso.

Here's a chart for you to better understand.

I don't like the taste of coffee in any form, except maybe ice cream. Chris on the other hand, falls in the "never want to sleep again size espresso".

As I always say when asked, "Black, like my soul". That said, it's near impossible to find a cup of coffee in the US that's really worth drinking. Give me the stuff I had in Switzerland when I visited in 2001 and I'll be a happier man, each and every day. Why I haven't bought myself one of those machines yet, I'll never know. More like Espresso, but not quite Espresso. You can still have a full cup, even two, and not buzz for days.

I have one of those machines... and the big cup above is what I call a 'shot'... :smile-new:

Takes me 3 or 4 of those before noon to keep me from killing people...

Black with a little cream, about 6 a day. The Black description is pretty accurate, lol, with the exception of "cool Adult".

There isn't a category for my preference . . . besides the rebel in me refuses to be "categorized."

I grind my own, super fine/Turkish grind, from dark roast Italian beans. I use the simple, Melitta drip method (no machine) . . . it's the old-fashioned, European way. . . boil water and pour through the drip "funnel". It takes a little longer than a machine, but well worth the extra effort.

I add a shot of REAL cream, and occasionally a tsp of honey or a shot of Bailey's Irish Cream.
