Well I've neglected this place for a minute... but I did take a few, IMO, awesome little shots last night. You guys and gals be the judges, but its definitely something you haven't seen in a minute-

Figured to do some "product" kinda shots to pass some time and do something different than random DC shots.

Here's one of my best photos so far (I'm still a newbie), taken from the top of the Great Orme in Llandudno, Gwynedd, North Wales, UK. Its old mining town with some fantastic views.

Been there, lovely place and fantastic pier.
The edges of the photo are darkened, did you do that in post processing?
Doesn't look right to me.

Our best photos from just our D5100

Limit it to one photo per post and one post per day max. Lets try to get as many different shooters posting as possible.

i will start with this one from the Zoo last week

Dave, sorry... was looking around and just realized I was breaking a rule in this thread.. (one photo per post). Some one should have slapped me!! :) now that I know I will stay within the rules..

Not so much a rule as a suggestion. At some point I may delete everything but the photos just to have an area that new users can see how great these D5100s are.

The images do look great even with the lower resolution and compression on the forum, but the images from the camera are actually much better than shown here.

It's understandable why the images have to be reduced and compressed, as long as anyone thinking of buying a D5100 know the difference between forum pics and full resolution camera pics are like standard definition compared to HD.

A smaller image should look sharper than the original but that doesn't show on forum images.
If this thread is to show a potential D5100 buyer, there needs to be a 100% crop along with the reduced photo IMO.
Just saying :)

if you click the shots, assuming they were uploaded full and linked here, you can see full ones just fine. i like that the board is set up to auto shrink and we dont have to with code when we post.

I pass this little school house almost daily, sitting out in the middle of a hay field. Finally remembered to take my camera one day and stop to take some shots.
