105mm macro is quite a good lens. It's just expensive. D:
My 60mm macro does fine for the time being though.

Thanks Marcel. It was a very long hike deep into the mountain but it was well worth the trip.

Macro lenses in general are sharp lenses. The only draw back is that they are much slower to focus but the Nikon 105mm AFS VRI version is slightly faster to focus than other macro lenses.

Yeh, the 60mm is a great lens... I can't tell the difference in output. The advantage is in all the peripheral stuff: VR, able to stand back... And hence not use a tripod, great tele... Downside, weight and cost... JD
