I think this was a Mother and Chick. The little one kept crying out and the Momma kept answering.

I've been going through your thread, lots of great pictures. May I ask what you are using to colorize your black and white photos? They turn out really nice.

Thanks! What do you mean by "colorize your black and white photos"? Do you mean selective color? If so, I use the selective color feature in the camera. I'm sure the D600 has it. Check your manual.

From Sunday, don't know what the Boy Scouts are building. We always get there when they're taking it down.

This is what I know .. or researched
I have the 5100 and this is what I have and how it works...

Effects Mode - Color Sketch gives my a sketch rendition in color (I did not find any settings to affect this...

Retouch Menu has 2 options - both acting on an existing picture..

Color sketch (same as above exept your have 2 adjustments vivid & outline

Color Outline - this renders a sketch in B&W as an outline that can be colored later

I looked in the 3000 manual and could not find a color sketch Scene Mode
I did find in the retouch menu Only the Color outline option to re-touch an existing...

From the 3000 manual..
"Create an outline copy of a photographs to use as a base forpainting. The effect can be previewed in the edit display. Press
OK to copy the photograph."
I dont know if this helped or confused things... Back to Wetlands!

Thanks for that info. This all started as a question from bobonit (post 502).

Thank you Marilynne.. being one of the Noobs here, it is not that often that I can answer any questions before someone else so when I get a chance, I jump at it. So many here have helped me I feel its the least I can do..

Yes, was following along on this since "502"

Have a good shooting day, look forward to more of your Wetlands!

I jinxed myself the other day when I told you it was 80. It's 49 out there right now. War Birds are in town today through Monday, so hopefully I'll be getting some shots of them.
