i think it would be nice if exif data and the software used, be posted with the pictures. This is a site for learning and thats hard to do with no info.
Thanks

For some reason, exif info has disappeared from any photos I post. It has, literally, taken me 2 hours to find a way to copy the info using 4 different exif programs and it still is messy. (I won't be typing this out every time.) The information shows up in all the programs but copying it is almost impossible. Exporting it takes up 3 pages of info that would put anyone to sleep. I finally had to put my direct file in one of the programs to be able to copy it. If someone comes up with an easier way. Please post.

1. Camera D5100
2. Lens 18-105MM
3. Focal length 50MM
4. Exposure time 1/100
5. F number F8
6. Iso 100
7. Software PICASA
imo, the above should be sufficient. Any suggestion please post.

I use Paint Shop Pro but I use plug-ins too like Topaz and Nik. I noticed that some people that use Photoshop still have the meta data accessible. I suspected the editing software was wiping out the data but it's still there, just not present once it's posted here.

I just went back to the photos I posted in early 2012 and couldn't bring up the meta data on them either and when I posted them it was available. I wasn't using the plug-ins back then.

I don't think the problem is you at all. vBulletin updated their software and messed up the ability to view that data.

I just went to your photo Ridge Road fixer-upper

Which is odd since I have not been able to get very many of them to show up lately.

I am using Firefox and the plugin is FXiF Data

Hummingbirds I get but back to the rabbits and I can not get. Anything different in the way you are doing things?

Thanks for that information Don. I just discovered that the photos I resized to 800 have the exif data and the ones that are sized 1200 do not. Hmmmmm.....

I think jdeg posted somewhere recently that anything over 1000 was being resized and date was stripped. Think I will play with that idea a little.

I just resized my challenge photo and posted it on my 365 thread and the data is all there. That's IT!! I'll start using size 800 instead of 1200 from now on. Phew! Problem solved!

I have had the same problem Laura.. There should be a way in this "computer age" to just export it... I have not found it :(

It will also show up if you link the original from another site, like Flickr, which is what I use.

I sort of like the idea that Challenge photos have some consistency to them. I think if we were to require a specific size (1000 on the long end) that would allow more of an apples to apples comparison that may get lose between larger and smaller photos. Also, while I'm not a huge fan of posting without a watermark, if we can preserve the EXIF data I'm thinking that allowing the challenge photos to be somewhat anonymous at viewing time (yes, our names are on the post) goes a little further towards apples to apples - but I completely understand anyone's lack of willingness to go that far.

Thanks Don... Then mine should work as I typicaly do 1000 for my uploads...
