One thing we tend to forget is that Nikon's first mission is to make money for their shareholders. As much as we'd like them to think of us first, let's not forget their "raison d'être".
..... I'm not trying to be an ass......
You never have to try Pete - it comes naturally.
No, I totally agree with bluenoser on this. I'd like to see how they can justify such a rediculous price for a piece of equipment that holds 2 batteries. I'd like to see the breakdown of costs for this grip. This is not a complicated piece of high tech equipment! It's some plastic and some bits of metal designed to bring power to the main camera body.
Pete, I agree with you, too.strangely enough. What you say makes total sense, for sure. But I still say it's nothing but greed, and they're counting on the true Nikon aficionados to keep paying through the nose....just because it says Nikon on the label.
And lastly; I couldn't care less about their friggin' shareholders!
Oh I understand shareholder value very well - being a Maple Leafs fan teaches you about that all too well - charging big bucks for hockey tickets, MLSE stock soars but the team is losing more than ever! )
Wow! And I thought the D7000's grip was overpriced. But, we can't expect a $3000 camera to have a $250 grip. Imagine the markup . . .
Here is exactly what I mean..... D7000 3rd Party Grip..... $43.99 NEW
