Did I Miss Something ?

When I first got my camera and in the manual it stated that the RAW files were listed as NEF. I did a software update a few weeks ago I believe it was C 1.03 and now the display shows RAW. Is this true or am I hallucinating

What display are you referring to? Your camera or your pc ?

Nikon raw files are xxx.nef as far as I am aware.

On the camera display.

If I look at the file on my cameras screen it is named DSC_1234.NEF bottom left but in the bottom right hand corner of the screen it says RAW is that what you are referring to ?
When you transfer to your pc what extension do they show ?
