Hey Jack,

I picked up this lens the day after I got the D700 a few weeks ago. It has only been off the camera once so far. Photos have been crisp for a lack of a better word. I'm sure you will love it.

Jack I been meaning to pick one of these up too. How stable is it, Looks top heavy. How bout posting a review?

Rick, surprisingly enough, it's pretty stable. The inside is made of stainless steel, like a thermos bottle. And the other funny thing? It zooms! lol Look at the second pic..........that's it zoomed out. The bottom pic shows it zoomed back in as normal. From a foot away, you'd swear this was a genuine camera lens with the front and back caps on it. The "focusing rings" are rubber just like the real ones. Without the cap on, it weighs in at 271.4 grams (9.6 oz) With the lid on, it's 318.6 grams 11.24 oz). From top to bottom it's 7" tall. The lid is about 3" across. All in all, pretty cool mug. :)
