I didn't want to say anything until it was all official-like. And now that it is...
I have transferred schools, and will no longer be pursuing a degree in IT. After some soul-searching and analysis of the lousy IT market, I decided that was no longer a viable path for me. I'm not really meant to be chained to a cubicle for the rest of my days anyway. I'm happy to announce that after a review of my portfolio, I have been accepted to the Art Institute, and will be working towards a bachelor's degree in Photography. Why a degree? Because it's always been a dream of mine to be in business for myself. I'm confident that I have the business and marketing skills to make it happen. However, I lack the technical knowledge of photography to match my creative vision. I consider this an investment in my future.
Second, I will be working with a professional model (two in fact) for the first time next Sunday. Words can't express how excited I am about that! I can't wait to post the results from a real photo shoot. I belong to a photography group and we've pooled our resources to hire a couple of pros to pose for us.
And last, I have a big fish on the line. I enjoy the fast action of MMA (mixed martial arts), and have had the opportunity to work with a few local gyms at fights. A big time event promoter has sought out my services, and we are hashing out details that will lead to me working for them on a series of fights this year.
I've worked hard for this, and am enjoying every minute of the successes so early on in the year. Thanks for reading my little rant!
