Snow White
Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge . . . Just down the road (and across the mountain range). In a few weeks these fields will become marshes for the cranes and snow geese. Right now they're full of sunflowers, lush green foliage, and mosquitoes.

Was not happy with the first version. Thinking back to what made me want to make this photo, the sunflowers should have been the center of interest. The HDR detail enhancer left the photo too "busy" with all the details. so I reprocessed in Photomatix tone compression and I'm much happier with this one.

Snow White
In the Corner of my Yard

These little "weeds" grow about 3ft tall with lacy foliage and topped with about a half-inch wide blossom. Some people consider them "pesky undesirables" . . . but I love them and don't mow them down until they've dried out.

This one I really like... the flowers are the center, clearly! Nice job as always.. I also prefer this to the original version.

And just like I said to Scott Murray today, And to Foto Jack, and Kim. I am envious of all of you for your "yards". Even if I go up to my moms place I would be lucky to see a bear or even a deer and that is around several hundred acres. Even as a kid I would take long walks in the woods and hardly see anything.

I like to push limits until I think I'm out of control . . . then I get a grip  Appreciate your feedback!

No one has ever accused me of being overly subtle either. LOL

I actually think the "over the top" look works for the mountains and sky, but you lose almost all your definition on the foreground vegetation. What are you using for your HDR processing? With Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 it would be easy to pull back the foreground using control points.
