Yes, another post your xxxxxxxx lens/camera shots thread. So sue me. I'm excited that I just received this lens, and my initial impressions are pretty good. The lens lives up to all the positive reviews about sharpness.
My first 2 shots, since I just got home, and it's the middle of the night in this part of the world.
These were taken on the front porch from atop of a shaky step ladder. (Mrs Blacktop said I'm insane and should seek professional help)
Tomorrow I'll get up earlier than usual before going to work and take a few shots in the sunshine.
My first impression of the lens is that it is lighter than I thought it would be. I think my 11-16mm Tokina was heavier if I remember correctly.
Another weird thing is that although it is a f/2.8 lens it only opens up to f/3.2. Has anyone else experienced this?
Over all it is a very well made lensds and it feels nice on the D7100. These were shot with that camera. I will try it on the D750, but if there isn't much difference in IQ I might just leave it on the D7100 and have that camera be a dedicated Macro setup.
Also will order a ringflash. The Neewer flash on the hotshoe works nice, but it is a little cumbersome for this type of shooting.
BTW ,these spiders set up shop on the vinyl siding so the reason for the white background.
