Don is right . . . needs a little more detail in the rock since that's what seems to be the center of interest. Compositionally, you may want to play around with where you place your center of interest, like not smack in the middle of the photo. If you had shifted the camera a little to the left or right, you might have had more interesting lines.

Pretty sky. I know you travel. Is this Utah, Arizona, or New Mexico?

Yep. Just be careful when ramping up details in the photo that you don't get the halo on the edges that can come with high levels of sharpening, tone mapping and structure additions that you can see in Don's edits (which I'm sure were incomplete and meant to simply show the areas in the sky and mountain that needed to be brought out).

Did you use anything to alter the sky and not the rock? As it looks like you have a bit of overflow from the sky selection tool! Contrast is definitely lacking in this, Maybe play around with contrast, blacks slider, vibrance, Clarity and see how it ends up.

​Yes it was in Arizona along either I-10 or I-40 don't remember which one.
