KelbyOne just announced via Twitter that this year's date for their annual world wide photo walk will be Saturday, October 3rd. Last year Nikonites used the event as an opportunity to meet and some even won prizes. Hope to see you this year! Registration will open next Wednesday.

I was toying with the idea of leading one in Bethlehem, PA at the Steel Stacks. They've opened a walkway that now allows you to get right next to the blast furnace structure. Alas, it's during the Artsquest Oktoberfest activities again this year, so if I wanted to do it I'd need to make it an early morning thing, though it would work so much better at sunset. Even so, some of the available shots from the ground will be eliminated by tents set up for it, and these will also serve to clutter the background of some shots.

Don't want to do Princeton again. I'm wondering about possibly doing one at Duke Gardens in Bridgewater, NJ. Huge grounds that make for lots of available shots. Two hours isn't enough to even walk the place let alone shoot it.

The walk closest to DFW is the Ft Worth Stockyards again, but it's sold out.

For the DFW guys, any interest in this or doing something like the northeast guys and planning our own Nikonites walk some other date?

Okay one month until the Photowalk - who has signed up and where? I'm going to Lancaster PA this year.

Was excited to see one in Easton and one in Bethlehem, PA this year. Then I saw that the Bethlehem leader hadn't found out about Oktoberfest at the Steel Stacks (see above), so I suspect it may get cancelled.

I don't know what's more predictable of late here in the northeast, cloudy skies during celestial events like meteor showers, eclipse and/or northern lights, or rain and high winds on Kelby photo walks. Was considering popping in on the local one tomorrow AM but I'm well over that now.

Two years in a row though the Lancaster PA leader hasn't officially called it - yet. :sorrow: Maybe Kelby's scheduler is coordinating with The Farmer's Almanac???
