Hello,

I just started getting back into photography with the purchase of a D5200 with the 18-55 kit lens. I previously had a Nikon starter SLR (film) and also have a 70-300 AF Nikkor lens (probably kit). I am here to share some photos and gets tips to improve and find great places to photograph within driving distance of Chicago. My focus is on outdoor photography.

Welcome! As a native Chicagoan you have an awesome canvas to shoot. If you live in the city, the lakefront is an obvious attraction. Cantigny, Morton Arboretum, any of the forest preserves. . . lots of options!! Can't wait to see your results!

Howdy from Dallas and welcome to Nikonites! Sounds like you're on a similar path as me ... had my previous Nikon N6006 film SLR before getting my D5300 just a couple weeks ago.
