    Insects with non macro lenses

I shot a few insects using the 18-55 VRII and the 50mm F1.8 AF. Though not macro shots, with some cropping you can get quite some detail

I have also done some, especially bees, using a 55-300 zoom...
    Nice job!

Me too, with my 18-300. I love the versatility of these things.

the 300 f4 af-s with the tc14ii is a great performer close up on aps-c format.

Use what you got. I know I did until I was pampered enough to get my first macro, and then my second.

Today I waited patiently for the moth and shot with the 50mm F1.8 AF. These are 100% crops. I love the 24MP sensor.
