It looks like the sea lions napping on the buoy barely noticed this speedster

I went out on a salmon charter on a 33-footer out of Westport when I was a teenager visiting Washington in the late '70s. My brother-in-law and I caught some nice fish but my lasting memory is of spending a lot of the trip hanging over the side, chumming.

I love seeing all those boats!

I knew they were big, but seeing a cruise ship in person boggles the brain! Here's a couple biggies with a 3rd smaller one slipping in between them. They were gone by the time the sun came up the next day.

Often when you are inside them you honestly forget you are at sea.

I like that shot but it sort of misrepresents the length of the old Gold Cup race boat... here's some 1936 footage of the original in action:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv6Cp3ZTGRA

The most famous Gold Cup racer of the era, the three-time winner "El Lagarto" was also present at the docks. What a machine! 621 cubic inch Packard power plant...
