Older Lenses, do you still use them????

Hi all!
Do you have a favorite old lens you use on your digital SLR? Do you have one or more you bought for your digital SLR? Is there one you'd recommend ?

Well for several reasons I have several older lenses. With the price of lenses being what they are that got me trying to think of some way to get lenses on a very limited budget. Then I read that though the older lenses may lack some of the features of the newer lenses, they can still have some worth. Durability is one of the pluses of a good quality older lens, and the quality of craftsmanship can be higher than on some of the newer lenses. And it was that combination of thoughts that made me decide to give them a try. Which leads me to recommend the 105mm that you see in my signature. It seems to me to be a very well made lens, sharp clarity, long easily adjustable focus, and can be found much cheaper than a comparable newer lens. Now I'm not saying these lenses are great for fast focus and and automatic settings. No these lenses do seem to be great when you have time on your side to set up shots, manually adjusting all the settings needed to get the shat your after.
But I'm not trying to convince anyone of the worth of some of these older lenses. I'm here to share with those of you who have older lenses my favorites and to hear about your favorites.
My 105mm is my favorite older lens right now, and I believe that when they get here my 135mm and my 200mm will share my favorites spot in my lens collection. You see I believe that all three were made pretty much alike at about the same time, so I'm hoping they I'll work as well too. I will let you know if they do after they get here and I can try them out! :)

So again, what older lenses do you have and would recommend to members like us who still use some older lenses? :D

Awesome! I'll keep that 135mm in mind when I have some money to spend! Lol Eventually I'm hoping to save up for the D800 myself! :D

Add a 28mm f2.8 or f3.5, they do't cost a lot.

I need to dispose mine due to lack of use. I still have mine plus 24mm f2.8D and 300mm f4.5 mf lens. too busy to sell.

I have a bunch of them from my F4 days. I even have a pre AF f/1.4 35mm lens. I love that lens, although I don't use it all that much. I have the AF 105 f/2.8 micro Nikkor and that is one of my favorite lenses. I also have the AF f/2.8 50mm micro-Nikkor. It's a nice lens that I have started to use more and more. Another good one is the AF f/1.8 85 mm. I also have the AF f/2 35mm lens but don't use it too much.

There is nothing wrong with the older lenses. They may not have the "techno" status of the newer ones but they work well, are tack sharp, and solid lenses. One of the features I like about the older lenses is that they have the depth of field marks on the lens barrel. I know that with autofocus, a lot of people don't think those lines are needed but they can be very handy at times.
