Nikon1 AW1. To me it just screams Scott. It fits your go anywhere lifestyle.

What do you want to use it for? The quick decision is the AW1 because the waterproofing can open up new doors to your photography. Here's my thing about mirrorless and my personal experience. I tried a Nikon mirrorless and went to a Sony NEX6 mirrorless. I was looking for better sensor performance and more DSLR functionality. What ended up happening to me was I was hunting for good glass for better IQ than the standard kit lenses. The price of good glass wasn't cheap and all of a sudden I was buying all new fairly expensive lenses for a system that was great but didn't perform as well as my D7100 or D600. So the real plus was the compact size. Only now I had all these lenses to tote around as well so my mirrorless bag was getting up there and I thought I might as well carry my DSLR. So for me my mirrorless turned into a smaller DSLR setup. And I lost the simplicity of just having a fixed lens camera. That being said... get the AW1... you've got money to burn. ;)

Perhaps, I'm a little biased, but I voted for the Nikon 1 system. You gotta appreciate the waterproofing. And, the Coolpix A really is a nice camera.

I guess you have considered only having the back screen to view,i just find it too frustrating,i will vote though from the choice you have given.

Yeah I have considered that and honestly if I do get one that I can use underwater all I will be using is the LCD screen.

That is what black paint is for....

And if you botch it, you can always hose it off and try again.

Though un/related, I'm kinda ona fringe with Galaxy S5 in this respect- a phone stateside that's finally waterproof up to 1m that doesn't have awful specs. Way cheaper toy than AW1, but probably plenty fun.

My only beef is the lack of a view finder, which can be overcome. The AW1 is a great option for your life style for sure. My underwater capable camera doesn't have a viewfinder either. Wouldn't be able to use it anyway.
