I've shot manual in the past, no problems.
Today when I set camera for manual (and the lens as wel) I don't get the colored "halo", and in the viewfinder lower left between the focus arrows don't get the dot when focused.

Lens is Nikon 24-120 f4 f mount

Switch on lens set to manual and setting on camera manual.

Focus peaking on, sensitivity peak 3.

I have the lens on hand, but only a Z5 to try to test with. AF systems between the 2 bodies have significant differences so I don't have a guess right now.

I found the solution. Focus Limiter setting was on. Turned it off, manual focus options.work. Turned it back on, they didn't. I didn’t this affected manual focus.

You have BOTH the Arrows on to show it is focus, (they show what direction to turn the ring for focusing) no the Dot!... As for the "Halo" you mean AF point?
