Your Christmas Stocking 2013

Hard to know where to post this as your Christmas wishes may include anything from a body upgrade to a memory card.
At any rate I've sent off my letter to Santa, well in my case Mrs Claus, and hopefully I've been nice not naughty.
Please Mrs Claus, I would love a Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM for Christmas if it's not too much trouble?

Just one of the many red hot reviews I've seen on this baby.

My Christmas stocking this year is just a bit different from the norm. Since I have degraded physically to it being very hard to stay steady, I have downgraded from my D90 to my current P310. So I have decided to take my photography fund (body upgrades, men cards, lenses, ect) and spread it out amongst our local food bank, Toys for Tots and whatever other uses I can find. I am still printing and framing for elderly shut-ins so more than myself can get some enjoyment out of my work, but I keep on wanting to do more.
With a little luck, I can do some good instead of just making a purchase.
To each their own.

Seriously considering a D800 or D800E. Sale price right now and if I do it on 18 month financing I might be able to convince the spouse.

This one is one my Santa's list to get my 3 year old grandson. It might help him keep his hands off his Mom's D90. Playskool 2 MP digital.

It's hard to decide between the Camera or the Camaro. Hell, they're even similar in spelling!

SB-700 is on the short list, but I'm also after a new exhaust... Thinking if I start working with the flash, perhaps I can earn the cash for the exhaust before spring. ;)

Well it was going to be a D400 for me but we know how that turned out

I think it may end up being a battle between the new 58mm and a 70-180mm macro-zoom.

Edit: according to nikon rumors there may be another competitor!

Cant really hope for any gear as i am probably going to retire for the second time, tried it once 10 years ago but didn't like it,considering a compromise though possibly working for two days and having a five day weekend.

I'm wanting it for the high speed sync. Hate working with a max shutter speed of 1/250 forcing me to close up my aperture. And, I'm really working right now to thoroughly learn working with a flash.

Now I think too that the time is right to go into flash. Right now I to night-shots with my 50mm 1.8g. Indoor shots I use the in-build pop-up flash.

But now I know that there is more great out-coming using an external flash. I went for SB-700 but the seller told me that a Nissin or a YN-586EX is a better choice. I have to ask him again.
