February 5. The first shot I just over laid an image of fire I took the other night. For the second photo I put my camera on auto timer and then took a candle and moved it around my head. The issue I ran into was I had the shutter speed on for 8 seconds so I was a little blurry because I could not hold completely still for that long. I had my son move the candle around my head for the effect. So the second photo is not layer with the fire. I did use a mask on the second image to darken the background. After spilling some wax on the floor my wife said I can't use candles like this anymore. View attachment 278795February 4. I was not able to get to this shot until later in the evening.
Tell her thank you. Most people probably would not know that what they are seeing are several shots of my ear lit by a cell phone from behind. It was fun to shoot. My wife loves the Ear Nebulae.
Thank you for teaching me so much and being so patient with me when I can't figure out how to find 1.5 times a number for shutter speed.Look at you figuring things out.

February 7. It has been a very busy week so I have not had time to post my shots the past few days. This is my cell phone flash light tucked into a chair. I placed a black colored book cover over the phone so it would not show up in the shot. Moab Man taught me the greater the aperture the most star burst effect comes from the light. The reflection on the chair looked like a reflection on the ocean at night.
February 8. We were building a set and I saw the can of soda sitting there and thought of my dad. He was a construction worker and could drink several Super Big Gulps a day. With a soda can that large compared to the house being built I thought of him. I imaged a construction crew bringing an unusually large container of soda to work to get them through the day. That is awesome I love it. Maybe one day I will be brave enough to go outside. You do know your camera will take pictures outside too? Couldn't resist the friendly jab.![]()
