They feel quite heavy to me. You really feel the neck strap. It is balanced pretty much right where the Tripod Mount is located on the lens.

I think the lens balance on the D600 is dead on I was just discussing this with a co worker just the other day and with the battery grip on my D600 it will stand on the tripod food and balance with no support and I held it in my palm and it balanced without any support. Now as far as weight I have not even noticed it at all but I am not a small guy, I lift weights 5 days a week and don't seem to get fatigued from walking around all day with it. If you want some more pics or examples of what this bad A#$ lens can do or the D600 please ask. Thanks.
