I've been sick as a dog lately with the flu. Three days of fever and most of the week just sitting on the couch. Bleh! I've been able to go through some of my older pictures, at least.

A Herring Gull, which is actually a new bird for me.

You don't usually have seagulls out where you are, Woody? We get them here especially because of a landfill just miles away. They tend to congregate in large parking lots...seriously! Sadly some people run them down with their cars although these gulls are federally protected. I happen to love seeing them. We also live close to the Delaware River. At times the gulls will settle in large groups on rocks in the river.

Great images!

We have tons of Ringed-bill Gulls around here, but very few others. So, when we see a different gull it is a kid of a treat.

I think they are interesting and beautiful birds, and fun to photograph. Sure, they are scavengers, but we all gotta' eat. :)
