Sitting on the back porch of the cabin, my wife and I have fallen in love with a pair of Cordilleran Flycatchers who have been perching and hunting insects non-stop near the porch. Clearly, they are gathering food for their youngsters, though I haven't figured out where the nest is. They stopped and posed for me every couple of minutes. At one point, I was lying on the wicker couch and a bug landed on my leg. The bird flew over, grabbed the bug off of my leg, and flew back to its perch. All I felt was the slightest Bruch of tiny wings against my leg. In case you are wondering, they weigh in at 11 grams, or about 0.3 ounces. They have at least two tons of character, though.
