I have no idea what species these are but they are great shots, they have superb camouflage don't they. :oops: I'm glad to see you were at the right end of a very long lens. :)
Thanks! A shy Bullsnake, a bit over a meter long I would guess. They are very tame and won't bite unless they are really provoked. That's the case with most snakes. They are cute little guys and I always love seeing them. :)

When it's almost fledging time and the parent Great Blue Herons come back to the nest to feed, the kids, who are nearly as big as the adults, basically attack the parent to get food. They are really tough on the parents, and as soon as the parent can regurgitate food for the kids, they get outa' there! (Parent on the right.)
