Sometimes I feel jealous of people who live in another part of the country or world where there is a large variety of exotic and interesting wildlife. Then I hear the haunting call of an 800 pound Bull Elk bugling and see the beauty of the mountains and realize I've got nothing to be jealous about. :)

You wouldn't think that dinky thing was so majestic if you could see OUR native fauna. Fifteen hundred pounds, pal. It poops 30-40 pounds of grass a day.

Behold!

And she may look complacent, but don't let it fool you. Get too close to that fence it's all over. Methane levels over an area of 20 square feet can be lethal. Deadly, vindicative animals, I'm warning you. Your bull elk wouldn't stand a chance.

I am jealous of all people who live in any part of world where any wonderful wildlife live around. My only recent experience: heard warning cry from a mother hawk that tried to chase away people walking by near her nest with her baby inside. It's wonderful taking such wildlife photos. Then it's last year. No more this year...

Ha! We have those, too. And ours can do tricks and sing show tunes!
