Hello everyone, I'm new on this forum and I see a lot of great and nice people here. I was wondering if anyone would help me? Since I live in Canada I can't get some Lens shipped to me. Would anyone would help me if I buy a lens and ship it to you and you ship it to me? Thanks

Seriously, some online retailers in the US will not ship to Canada, I wouldn't expect most Americans to know that though.

Ya lol on amazon. Nikon, canon, Sony, none of them ships to Canada. Only sigma and tamron does. Still selected ones.

I'm sure it has to do with US tariffs and manufacturer restrictions on shipping. The products are non-NAFTA (made in Asia) and therefore each nation (i.e. the US and Canada) has negotiated its own set of tariffs. For a US company (Amazon, Adorama, B&H) to ship to Canada it involves filing tariff paperwork with each and every order, and that takes time, and time is money. So it's likely not that they can't, it's that they prefer not to. On top of that, they may be restricted by the manufacturer as companies like Nikon have divisions in each region (like Nikon USA, Nikon Europe, Nikon Japan, etc.) that work closely with their network of dealers and price breaks one division might provide (like the US rebates that will expire tomorrow) would cut into sales for dealers in another region if they were allowed to ship there.

Enough on trade. I don't believe NikonD90 is looking to scam anyone, but I'd warn him that the warranty on whatever you're going to buy may be worthless (unless you can do some arm twisting) since service involves providing a copy of the receipt. So if you do work something out, make sure to ship it to yourself at this person's address so you can at least claim original ownership.

Adorama and B&H ship to the UK from USA, but by the time you add shipping, it's only slightly cheaper, and if you then get stung by customs and excise duty, then your purchase becomes very expensive.

However, have a look at DigitalRev.com - they're usually pretty good for shipping to anywhere in the world, they offer free delivery, and somewhere in the blurb, they even offer to pay any customs taxes that you end up being billed for.

You maybe can contact Amazon to have the credit transfer from Amazon.com to Amazon.ca. This would be my first trial. Or you have to drive to the States and open a Postal Box to get your product.

Or maybe sell your Amazom credit to a US person...

The garbled sentence structure and almost too good to be true offer caused my spider senses to tingle. ;)

Then I realized it was more than likely typed with thumbs and sent from a phone. ;)

What the hell really? It's not worldwide warranty? And who said I'm scamming? Doesn't make sense cause I'm sending the package to USA $500 worth.

If they won't transfer, since you're in Vancouver find out where the closest UPS facility is across the border and have it shipped there "hold for pickup". Not sure how much your credit is for, so you might eat up the savings in fuel and border tolls (if there are any).
