Wittnauer Camera

My parents gave me this camera while we were visiting with them this past weekend. It is a Wittnauer Automation camera. Manufactured in West Germany sometime in the late 1950's. The camera does not function, in that it will not advance the film. The flash has a battery in it but no flash bulbs or tubes in the flash. It has a fixed focus 40mm lens. No mention of f-stops. The ASA (ISO) can be adjusted by a lever near the base of the lens on the right side to flash, 10, 24 or 64. As you can see in the photo the original price was $74.50. All original paper work is with the camera, including warranty papers.
Maybe I should fill out the warranty papers, then send the camera in to Wittnauer to have repaired. LOL
Should I keep the camera? Deep six it?

That is interesting. Made by Braun in Germany for an American watch making company. Looks like 3 or so years only 1957-1960.

It is probably impossible to fix but the rest of the kit is very fine so maybe you should look for a working unit. Cameras from that era were generally speaking pretty well made. The west was helping the Germans and the Japanese to rebuild their manufacturing capacity. This is the kind of stuff they were producing.
