Will the D300s price drop after the D7000 is out?

I ended up at 1K for low actuations, so you were correct. Still makes me mad I missed the 300S for 1100 but thats ok, this one has 2500 actuations, not even broke in.

Yeah you have to act quick to get them at that price. When I got my D300 used I got it for $1050 with a Nikon battery grip about a year ago.

Man, I forgot the battery grip, maybe I was hoping the 300 was better on batteries than the 200. Oh well, link delight here I come. My wife is thinking I am at the end of this camera madness, I advised I hadn't bought much but a few lenses this year lol. I'm headed to buy more perfume...

It is much better with battery use, I use the grip with a single Nikon battery in it, none in the camera and haven't run out of power yet. They say they can get almost 1,000 shots but for sure you will get 800. I like the grip because I think the camera handles better. I bought two of these and actually like them better than my Nikon one https://www.adorama.com/INKMBD10A.html?kbid=64905 and they are on sale right now for $65.

I also like the grip, big hands I guess but it does just feel better and I'm sure more steady. I bought one for my D200 from link delight, it came with remote shutter (cable type) and two Enl3e batteris for about $130, batteries seem to hold charge well even though they are 3rd party.

Zak I really like your website, nice job

I have been looking over the specs. On the new D7000 and I must say I am very impressed. So I will retract my statement about going to the D700 in the future.
Having a fair amount of DX glass it only seems logical to upgrade to the D7000 someday. Right now I am happy with my D200, but I can see my next camera being a D7000 perhaps?? Although by the time I upgrade there might be a D8000….lol.

So true, wasn't that long ago we were talking about too many models, now we're talking about models that don't exist. lol
