I am getting ready for a trip with days of hiking, soooo trying to design the ulitmate light weight, but high quality kit,,
I have the 14-24 and the 15 3.5 for wide angle, but both are still kinda large, soooo,, Thank you Nikkor for still making
ancient designs,
which one, why the 16 mm 2.8 wide angle prime,, WOW!!! perfect, I mean this lens is the size of a small prime, incredible,
and a nice metal build with that classic black crinkle paint, that just broadcasts quality,, like the old 105 DC,, another gem.
this lens was designed in like 1991!, ancient design, but, honestly, can Nikkor/Nikon even design high quality compact lens
anymore???? every new lens is some giant glob of plastic and delicate VR crud.
If you can see, that I am not an advocate of the girth in lens, you are right, I have newer G lens, and yes, they are
high resolution, but delicate, After two 600 repairs on my 14-24, I am afraid to even carry that lens.
so,,, if you are looking for a tiny ultra wide, consider the 16 mm! I got an open box one for just over 600 dollars,, awesome price,
anyhow, keep shooting.
