Printed a photo last night, and got me thinking how much less I print now, but, also,, how I need to keep printing to
first keep the ink flowing and the printer unclugged, and to look at the photo differently.
Let's face it, photos on computers are not really stared at, or day dreamed at, its more just a look, you like it
or you don't, and then you move onto to the next. sites that post shots for likes, average most likely seconds
before the click,, like, or love button, onto the next.
which is fine, but photos are also to be savored, added to a spot. visible when one looks up from the screen,
or walks down the hall, the photo becomes part the essence of room, or spot.
One of the reasons I don't print as much is that my printed stock is fairly large, and I am also getting more
and more fussy, my digital inventory is growing by leaps and bounds, but my harvested prints grow at a glacial
speed,
laughs, course matters not, not like people buy prints left and right, I sold maybe half dozen prints in the last year,,
really slow going. I can see why in the Art world, one needs an agent, or at least a gallery highly motivated to
sell your stuff (to cover their rent of course).
To encourage my students to print more, I am going to organize an photo show of their work.
