Its amazing how good phones are getting now taking pictures inside even,,, we were in the Hoover dam

and here I am with tripod, and expensive gear,,, and my no nothing about photography friends snaps one
with his Samsung,, and it is just about perfect.

and at 16Meg resolution the quality is there too.

Gets you thinking of what makes a photographer,, for me it is taking consistent shots,, in control of
the moment, and knowing the look of the shot as you take the shot.

One big delta is ability to control DOF,,, the camera phones are basically infinity all the time,,
but, maybe in time they will just do this by camera by software. and one would place
a focus point marker and then be able to dial in the dof falloff.

another trend,, I saw two photo instructors carrrying Fuji high end cameras,, I spoke to
both, and both were Nikon users,, but,,, prefer the convenience of the smaller cameras
and loved the pictures coming out.

hence Nikon coming out with their updated camera. J100? or something.

if they had put a DX sensor and not a CX sensor I would be happier to pay 1200 dollars.

a 2.7 multiplier vs 1.5 vs 1.0 is a lot,, maybe good for birders,, but again that would
effect the ability to control DOF..

but,, mmm maybe I'll pick up one used several years from now, for say 500 dollars.
