well,, I now wait for the return of my D5000,, laughs,, I wonder,, if I should have called them first,, mmm

I did the old fashion way of sending them an enclosed latter, along with the receipts,, yup the orginal
receipts..

yeah yeah,, should have been copies,, but I trust them,, I paid a super low price of 49 dolllars for it,,
yup.. that mistake on Best Buy,, that was tipped off here, was supposed to be 490 dollars, wow,,

so,, lasted 7 months, and then shutter locked, I read the fine print, and sure enough it says
that one is NOT required to send in the card for warranty work, good,, I hate mailing in those
cards,

first ever Nikon warranty work for me,, after 38 years of gear! not bad,,,

my D800 will be 2 years old in another 6 months,, and what a work horse,, love the build of that camera,, I feel I could
pound nails with that camera..

same with the old prol lens, and some of tne nerwer Pro lens,,

which lens have failed on me,, yup the low end consumer stuff,, my advice just save up,, and get the
better gear, the new consumer gear is just too flimisy for dairly use.

and I guess well, a law of averages,, if a consumer uses the camera a few times a month,
then really don't need to be as tough,, but use the camera almost every day,, and
sometimes for hours, in extreme conditions of moiisture, heat, freezing temperature,
etc, then really really save up the money

OR, buy used,, an older D300,,, a Gem,, etc, and eventurallly, got to believe the D700s will
begin to drop,, but for now,, the D700s are holdin their value,

so,, will be so interesting to see just how long Nikon takes to repair,,

mmmm I guesss I should have put my email address on the letter, they
have go old school for the repair.
