Why Not a Blog 82

Last night was a quiet night, so I did my catchup on t the backups,,, I know there are auto backup programs, but you have to have your computer on, and well its going to take up bandwidth anyway,, I work off of a laptop, and not desktop, because hate being anchored down to a single desk with some tower.

So, I would have to plug in my double 2T hard drives anyway, and launch the auto backup, and I find the extra step of selecting the newest folder and dragging over to the other hard drives not any work.

What is gained with the auto programs is not letting too big of a gap between the source folders and the backups.

I used to have a policy of not formatting the camera memory until I had made at least two copies on the computer and backup drive. Since I have 96G on the Camera, even shooting Raw allows me 2-3 photo excursions (the exception being the single day wedding, but a wedding is like 4 photo excursions for me).

Today, I'll put on my critical eye, and select which of the last 2 months I want to be in the portfolio(s).. I organize my portfolios by category, like I suspect most do, so one for landscape, another for cityscapes, people, abstracts, etc.

From the Portfolio set, I keep a folder called TO_Print,, where I queue up shot that I want to print, I used to be print happy, but only so many stacks of paper one needs, and I have lots of framed prints already,,,

but,, soon,, I need to empty some of the Print Queue,, they are complaining about crowding in the folder.
