wow, enjoyed almost 2 hours viewing the class results from the day of shooting. Each brought 10-15 photos and I was blown away with the results.
Part of it was giving them time to think of their shots, and then providing a place/subjects that are interesting. The theme was macro photography, and surprising number hardly ever and many never had taken macros.
There eyes were opened as you might say to the world of small, and the effect on the screen was almost magical.
Now another factor is the projection of the pictures on a large screen. Reminds me of when I used to host my yearly slide night, where I would show my favorite slides from the previous year which often included a trip. 3-4 trays of slides, lots of beer and booze, and all were happy. Something about a picture projected and really really seeing the details.
mmmm, maybe I should start saving for a projector, there cost has come down quite a bit. I'll wait for my best buy card to get to zero. I have a habit of getting those 6 months or 12 months zero interest deals, and buying one electronics. Since circuit city, I have been doing that, almost 20 years of keeping my electronics up to date. Same as paying in cash, but you control the rate of buying, since I can't buy something else until that item is paid off.
Anyway, back to the class, they all went home very happy first sharing their results, and also seeing how many other shots were possible.
Afterwards, I planned out the next class with the co-host, and once we limit to 15, I am afraid we will have to turn some folks away, but more than 15, and the class gets kinda hard to keep track off.
