Over the years, I have used and collected lots of camera bodies, and compared the size/comfort level.
I suppose it varies by your personal hand size, but I have noticed that personally I really like the size of the current D7000/7100 cameras.
I remember comparing my Olympus line to my Nikon line back in film days, and I found the Olympus line to be a bit too small in form factor, and point and shoots are great for sliding in the pocket, but even less comfortable for shooting,
While the D800 is ok,, but I find bulky,,, and well the D2/D3,, etc,, way way too bulky, for outdoor use lugging around..
and then their is price..
I am becoming the opinion that the 7100 is really an ideal camera, image quality it stack up with the 600, has the features of a higher end camera including compatibility to the full lens offerings, and then it has that really nice form factor,, so much like the F3.
for 1100 dollars,, its a fantastic camera.
I have been thinking of ebaying my 7000 and buying a 7100, between the 24 Meg, and the lack of AntiAlias filter, its just a surperb camera.
but,, naw,, 7000 is good enough,, and for pixel mania,, have the 800.
but for those that are thinking,,, of upgrading from say a
D90, D300, D3000 family or D5000 family,,
or anyone thinking of needing a backup camera..
Then for 1100 dollar range.. I think the 7100 is the buy.
