I bought this lens used, ok, I got a fantastic price because the listed stated their was a scratch on the lens, I really really have a hard time seeing one, and no impact on the image, so I got mine for 600 dollars used.
I really like this lens, lighter than my old 80-200 2.8, and still sharp enough, is it as razor sharp as the 80-200, not quite, but still fine.
Mine was missing the collar, so, I bought the Kirk collar which is built very well, and allows me to grip and support the camera in handheld mode. I find that it is pretty easy handcarry setup.
So,, anyone thinking of one,, might be the best new price you will ever see.
Also,, the 80-200 2.8 is down to just over a 1000 dollars, and yes, no VR, but this lens is a classic, built old school tough, and I have always gotten razor sharp photos, I am really pleased on the quality of images this lens is capable of.
