Interesting how camera gear is stablizing again, expecially on the high end,, had a gathering at my house of friends, that included 2 other serious photographers, both full time professional..

ONe is a Canon user,, with the high end Mark whatever, and the other has a Nikon D800 as primary,

All of are happy with the machines,, and have no desires for upgrades (well,, the Canon user was a shade less happy,, lol).

My D800 is now 18 months old, and would be at what I consdier around 1/2 life in a normal cycle,, but the cycles for the high end gear is extending,, look how long it took to replace the D700.

oh wait,, there was a fourth pro there too,,, but he is a Canon user,, so,, 50/50 was the split.

We did agreee we would go out together for photography this fall,, but what really happens, is that our schedules almost never overlap, ao we all do our photo journeys typically alone.
