Who has what? Poll?

I think Nikonites date of birth has a lot to do with the numbers. I believe The D7000 was the "must have" body at about the same time this site gained a larger member base. I know Nikonites was around a bit before the D7000, but they both "came into their own" about the same time?

I joined the site when I picked up the D3100. At the same time, looking back at the numbers, the D3100, D5100 and D7000 were the consumer and prosumer bodies of the day. The D300s was the ruler of Dx and D700 was the beginning point of the Fx line. The D300 and D300s numbers dropped off since a new model was not released, hence "no love" in the numbers. :)

That certainly has a lot to do with it. A lot of people get the old model when the new one comes out too (like me :))

I updated the numbers to include the D40, and D5300.

The problem with polls is that you only get the replies of the relatively few folks who are actually active at any one given time period.

When Nikon released the D3300, the market was flooded with under-priced D3100's (red!) And all the soccer moms bought them without even knowing how to use a dslr! I know, I've had to reach a couple of them!

26388 members, of which 4663 (17.7%) are active.

Lets just say for arguments sake only active users have a camera, which means only 78.1% of us (active users) have a camera!!
Or if you want to do it the 'total' way, then only 13.8% of members seem to have a camera :)
